TWRA to Host Town Hall Meeting in Dayton with Focus on Waterfowl Hunting Changes

Monday, May 10, 2010 | 07:16am
NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will host a town hall meeting on Thursday, May 13 on the second floor of the old Rhea County courthouse in Dayton at 7 p.m. (EDT). The primary subject of discussion will be the proposed changes to waterfowl hunting regulations for the Chickamauga-Hiwassee hunting complex.

The TWRA has recommended to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission that the Chickamauga-Hiwassee hunting complex be included under the new rule passed by TWRC last month. The new rule established a random computer drawing for applicants and assigning blinds. The change would eliminate the old rule that allowed hunters to choose their hunting blind site on a first come, first serve basis.

TWRA officials will be present at the meeting. Other items of interest to local sportsmen can be discussed as well, time permitting.
