Highway 109 Reconstruction Ribbon Cutting in Sumner County

Nashville, Tenn. – Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Transportation will join state and local leaders in Sumner County on Monday, June 21 to celebrate the early completion of a $28 million reconstruction project on Highway 109 between Gallatin and Portland. The project widened a two mile section of the highway and reconstructed the narrow, steep section along the ridge near Portland.
 
Monday’s event will begin at 11:00 AM in the newly constructed southbound lanes of Highway 109 approximately a mile and a half south of the South Tunnel Road intersection. The event will last approximately 30 minutes. Attendees should park along the southbound shoulder of Highway 109.
