TDOT to Present Project Accomplishments on the One Year Anniversary of Improving 66 Groundbreaking

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation Region 1 Director Steve Borden will join local officials on the one year anniversary of the groundbreaking on the Improving 66 project to discuss the next steps in the construction process, provide a project overview and highlight the accomplishments made so far on the project to widen State Route 66 in Sevier County. The event will be held in Sevierville on Thursday July 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
 
Phase I of the SR-66 project, also known as Improving 66, started on July 15, 2009 and is the largest American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project in the state. This is the first of three projects to widen State Route 66 from four to six lanes from downtown Sevierville to the I-40 Interchange.
 
The presentation will be held in the MACTEC Project Field Office in Sevierville, Tennessee in the Sevierville Commons Shopping Center.
