Weekly Construction Report for East Tennessee for the week of July 15-21

(Recovery Act Project) ANDERSON COUNTY, SR 61 Bridge over Poplar Creek in Oliver Springs: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures weekdays through this bridge widening project. Motorists should be alert for changed conditions and use caution through this area.

ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 South between Exit 128 (Lake City) and Mile Marker 127: Motorists should be alert for workers present, equipment entering and exiting the roadway and use extreme caution through this noise wall construction project. 

BLOUNT COUNTY, SR 33 East Broadway at Wildwood Road and East Lincoln Road: On Thursday night, July 15, 2010, motorists should be alert for utility work occurring on East Broadway (SR 33) at the intersection with Wildwood Road and East Lincoln Road between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning. Wildwood Road and East Lincoln Road will be closed at the intersection of East Broadway during these times and motorists should follow signed detour. Motorists should be alert for flag persons directing traffic on East Broadway at this intersection and use caution traveling through this area.

 

 

 

CLAIBORNE & GRAINGER COUNTY, US 25E (SR 32):Motorists should be alert for new traffic patterns, lane shifts, and use caution through this area.

 

COCKE COUNTY, I-40 Foothills Parkway (Exit 443): The Foothills Parkway East located between I-40 at Exit 443 and US 321 is closed by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Service for construction rehabilitation. The roadway is estimated to reopen by August 20, 2010. Motorists wishing to access the Foothills Parkway East should follow signed detour route.

COCKE COUNTY, I-40 East bridge over the Pigeon River between Mile Markers 445 and 446: Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures across the bridge through this bridge repair project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays and use extreme caution through this area.

 

COCKE COUNTY, US 321 (SR 35) between Saint Tide Hollow Rd. and Salem Road: Motorists should be alert for new traffic patterns, lane shifts, and use caution through this area.

GREENE COUNTY, SR 107 at the Intersection with SR 351: Motorists should be alert for construction activities, changing conditions and use caution traveling through this intersection improvement project.

KNOX COUNTY, I-40 East and West between Rutledge Pike (Exit 392) and the Holston River Bridge (MM 395): Motorists should be alert for nightly lane closures on Sunday nights through Thursday nights between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning through this resurfacing project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays, and use extreme caution through this area.

KNOX COUNTY, SR 1 Kingston Pike over Norfolk Southern Railroad at Forrest Park Blvd:  Kingston Pike is reduced to one lane in each direction around the clock for bridge repairs. Motorists should be alert for traffic shifts and new conditions through this project. South Forrest Park Blvd. is closed at Kingston Pike. Motorists wishing to access South Forrest Park Blvd. should follow signed detour route. Motorists should use extreme caution when traveling through this area. 

(Recovery Act Project) KNOX COUNTY, Campbell Station Road between I-40 and Kingston Pike (SR 1): Motorists should be alert for construction activities and workers present through this widening project. Motorists should be alert for flag persons directing traffic at various times and use caution through this area. Beginning Thursday, July 15, 2010 Old Colony Parkway will be closed at the intersection with Campbell Station Road for approximately three weeks as crews expedite construction in this area.

KNOX COUNTY, SR 131 Lovell Road between Gilbert Drive and Pellissippi Parkway: Motorists should be alert for workers present and flag persons directing traffic at various times through this project.

MORGAN COUNTY, SR 62 between SR 29/US 27 and Petit Lane:Motorists should be alert for new traffic shifts through this project. Motorists should be alert for flag persons directing traffic at various times through this widening project and for temporary detours and lane shifts through this area.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East and West at Lawnville Rd. (Exit 355): Beginning Monday, July 19, 2010, motorists should be alert for shoulder closures on I-40 and expect possible lane closures on the Lawnville Rd. Bridge over I-40 during this bridge repair project. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution through this area.

ROANE COUNTY, US-70 / SR 1 Bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad and Black Creek (LM 2.46): US-70 Bridge over Norfolk Southern railroad at log mile 2.46 is reduced to one narrowed lane controlled by temporary traffic signals as crews perform bridge rehabilitation work. WIDE LOADS OVER 10 FEET WIDE ARE NOT PERMITTED THROUGH THIS PROJECT. Traffic loads over 10 feet in width should follow signed detour route. Motorists should be alert for temporary stoppage of traffic in both directions between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. as crews perform bridge beam demolition. Motorists should be alert for changed conditions and use extreme caution through this area.

ROANE / ANDERSON COUNTY, SR 95 between Westover Drive and SR 62 Illinois Avenue:State Route 95 is reduced to one lane in each direction through this widening project. Motorists should be alert for short lane closures with flagging operations as crews enter and exit into the traffic lanes while performing paving operations. Motorists should be alert for workers present, lane shifts, changed conditions and potential delays and use caution through this area.

 

ROANE COUNTY, SR 95 between Westover Drive and SR 58:Motorists should be alert for construction personnel and utility crews working closely to the traveled lanes.  Motorists should be alert for flag persons, lane shifts, changed conditions and use caution through this area.

 

SEVIER COUNTY, SR 454 between Glades Road and SR 416: Motorists should be alert for lane shifts, construction personnel and equipment present through this construction project. Motorists should use caution and expect potential delays through this area.

 

Motorists should be alert for lane shifts, narrowed lanes, and workers present throughout this widening project. Short duration traffic stops in both directions may occur daily Monday through Friday through this project for blasting and utility operations. On Tuesday, July 20, 2010 through Thursday, July 22, 2010 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. motorists should be alert for lane closures and traffic shifts on the Fred C. Atchley bridge for utility work. UNION COUNTY, SR 33 Bridge over Clinch River (Norris Lake): Motorists should be alert for workers present and flag persons directing traffic at various times as equipment enters and exits the roadway through this bridge replacement project. Motorists approaching this area should reduce speeds and use extreme caution through this area.

UNION COUNTY, Sharps Chapel Road between Lambdin Ridge Rd. and Brewer Hollow Rd.: Motorists should be alert for new and changing conditions through this project. Motorist should be alert for flag persons directing traffic between Lambdin Ridge Rd. and Brewer Hollow Rd. at various times thru this bridge replacement project.
