TDOT opens Siam bridge project ahead of schedule

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner Gerald Nicely will join state and local leaders to officially open the new concrete bridge on Wilbur Dam Road over the Watauga River on Tuesday July 20 at 10:00 a.m.
 
The new bridgewas one of the first Recovery Act projects to break ground in the state and was completed two months ahead of schedule. The new $1.55 million two lane bridge replaces a one lane steel bridge that was originally built in 1941.
