NASHVILLE--- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is continuing to update waterfowl hunters on its annual planting of crops for wildlife which was delayed this year due to the May flooding.

One of the popular waterfowl areas in Middle Tennessee is the Old Hickory Wildlife Management Area, located near Gallatin and Lebanon. TWRA managed to plant 94 acres of milo by the end of June in the low-lying fields at the unit.

Provided that there are no more downpours as the historic May rain, Old Hickory WMA is expected to have good crops, according to TWRA officials. The Old Hickory WMA staff is continuing to work on the area’s roads and getting the pumping sites ready.
