NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has released about 900 rainbow trout into several streams that run near and through Fort Campbell, which straddle the Kentucky and Tennessee state lines.

TWRA, along with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, have been stocking this area for many years, with Kentucky releasing trout in the spring and TWRA letting them go in the summer months.

“We made our first stocking of the year a few days ago, and we have one more to go,” said Jim Pipas, a biologist for the TWRA. “We will stock trout again in mid-August.”

Trout released by TWRA ranged in size from 8 to 10 inches long. Locations of the release areas were Boiling Springs Road Bridge (the first bridge north of Pump-House Road), Mabry Road Culvert Bridge, Kinser Pond; Service Road Bridge, and 101st Airborne Road Bridge.
