Oakland Driver Service Center Hosts Open House

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Department of Safety is hosting an Open House at its new Oakland Driver Service Center in Fayette County from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Deputy Commissioner Greta Dajani and Driver Services Director Michael Hogan invite the public to the facility located at 160 Beau Tisdale Drive, in Oakland, Tennessee.

The new facility, which is relocating from 7027 Highway 64 West, is also the county office for the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The Fayette County Driver Service Center first opened in November 2006 and was one of seven new facilities that opened across Tennessee between 2006 and 2008 from funding approved by the General Assembly. The goal was to establish service so that every Tennessean is no more than 30 minutes or 30 miles from a driver service center.
The full-service Fayette County Driver Service Center is open Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
The Tennessee Department of Safety’s (www.TN.Gov/Safety) mission is to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
