Nighttime Lane Closures on Interstate 40 in West Nashville

Thursday, August 26, 2010 | 03:53am
NASHVILLE – Work continues to progress on the state’s second largest Recovery Act funded project on I-40 at White Bridge Road in west Nashville. Beginning tonight through Saturday (nighttime hours only), crews will close lanes on Interstate 40 in both directions near White Bridge Road to perform concrete work on the flyover ramp that crosses over the interstate. The closures are as follows:

  • Thursday August 26 through Saturday August 28, 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. (EACH NIGHT) – I-40 will be reduced to one lane in each direction as crews pour the concrete parapet walls on the flyover ramp from I-40 East to Briley Parkway North.

The lane closures are part of the Interstate 40/White Bridge Road Interchange Modification Project, which will help improve traffic flow for motorists traveling eastbound I-40 to Briley Parkway and from Briley Parkway to westbound I-40.  The $32 million project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and is scheduled to be complete in August 2011.
