THP Identifies Victim of Apparent Hit & Run Pedestrian Fatality

NASHVILLE --- The victim of a possible hit and run pedestrian fatality on I-40 in Mt. Juliet Wednesday, August 25, 2010, has been positively identified through fingerprint analysis as Harold James Frelix Jr., 43, of Antioch, Tennessee.  
 
At approximately 5:42 a.m., Mt. Juliet Police responded to two crashes on I-40 eastbound in which vehicles ran off the interstate to avoid the remains of what the motorists thought was a deer. The Mt. Juliet Police Department investigated those crashes.   At the request of Mt. Juliet Police, THP investigated the circumstances surrounding the initial fatality which at this time is still being classified as a possible hit and run. Investigators believe the incident may have occurred sometime between the early morning hours of 3:30 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. Wednesday.  
 
The THP is hoping someone may have witnessed the incident or might be able to provide information helpful to the investigation.   Anyone with information is urged to contact the Tennessee Highway Patrol at 615-741-2060.
