TDOT to Perform Emergency Repair on Exit 178 from I-24 East in Chattanooga August 7-9, 2010

Friday, August 06, 2010 | 09:36am

CHATTANOOGA – Crews will be performing emergency concrete repairs on the approach to the overpass at Exit 178 (US-27 N/Downtown Chattanooga - US-11/41/64/Lookout Mtn./Broad St.) from I‑24 East in Chattanooga, Hamilton County this weekend.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, August 7 one lane on the ramp at Exit 178 will be closed to allow crews to remove and replace a 10’ x 10’ concrete section that needs repair on the approach slab of the bridge. One lane will remain open during the repair, so motorists will be able to access either US-27 North to downtown Chattanooga or US-11 (Broad Street) to Lookout Mountain. However, to provide adequate time for the new concrete to cure properly, one lane will remain closed to traffic until 5:30 a.m. on Monday morning, August 9.
