Bridge Repairs to Close Lanes on Interstate 40 in Henderson County

Friday, September 17, 2010 | 03:35am
JACKSON, Tenn. – Crews working to replace a bridge over Interstate 40 in Henderson County will again reduce I-40 to one lane in each direction this weekend. On Saturday, September 18, and Sunday, September 19, from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. I-40 at mile marker 101 will be reduced to one lane both east and westbound as crews safely remove the temporary concrete barrier rails along State Route 104.  The contractor will be painting the new rails that have been recently installed. Traffic will be diverted onto the ramps over State Route 104 and back onto the Interstate and will be flagged along State Route 104. Tennessee Highway Patrol will be assisting with traffic control.

Similar closures in the past have resulted in minor delays, but motorists should continue to plan ahead and avoid the area if possible.
