 In anticipation of increased Labor Day holiday traffic, construction crews will stop all lane closure activity on interstate highways beginning at noon on Friday, September 3, through 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7.


I-24
 
REGION 3 On-Call Guardrail:Thursday September 1 through Wednesday September 8, 8PM-6AM, (each night), (excluding holiday weekend), There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates and state routes in Davidson, Smith, Williamson, Humphreys, Montgomery and Robertson Counties for guardrail repair and installation.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
  • Thursday September 2 until noon on Friday September 3 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
  • Thursday September 2 until noon on Friday September 3 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for ditch cleaning. 
  • Thursday September 2 until noon on Friday September 3 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 7PM-1AM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson and Williamson Counties for drainage cleaning. 
  • Thursday September 2 until noon on Friday September 3 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-1AM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for vegetation control. This will affect the shoulders or outside lanes.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday September 2 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 8PM-5AM, Interstate 24 both directions in Rutherford County - Between DAVIDSON-RUTHERFORD COUNTY LINE (Mile Marker: 63.1) and MILE MARKER 83 (Mile Marker: 83.0), drainage work will cause temporary lane closures. One lane will remain open.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, ITS Phase III:Thursday September 2 through Friday September 3 (noon) and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM, There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to install devices, perform electrical work, and pole installation.
  • I-24, both directions, between Old Hickory Blvd and Bell Rd (MM 40 to MM 61)

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Median Drainage Improvement on I-24 near MM 53.0:Thursday September 2 and Tuesday September 7 and Wednesday September 8, 9PM-5AM, There will be one lane closed on I-24 westbound near MM 53.0 in order to adjust castings and to pave around catchbasins.

REGION 3, Retracing of Pavement Markings on Interstate and State Routes:Thursday September 2 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 8PM-5AM, There will be mobile operations on I-24 in Rutherford County from MM 70.5 to MM 97 in order to restripe the roadway.

COFFEE COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing project from US-41 (MM 105) to SR-55 (MM 111): The contractor will have nighttime lane closures on I-24 from 7:00 PM-- 6:00 AM to perform paving operations. Estimated project completion date is October 2010. 
 
MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on US-72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor has installed construction signs and will be clearing, relocating utilities and installing barrier rail. Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 
 
HAMILTON, BRADLEY, and MARION COUNTIES, I-75 / I-24 / SR-153 / SR-29 construction of an intelligent transportation system on various interstate and state routes in and near Chattanooga: The contractor will implement shoulder closures throughout this report period within the project area on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and anytime on the weekend as part of the ITS construction. There also may be weeknight lane closures throughout the project between the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM, nighttime weekend lane closures between the hours of 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM, and intermittent temporary stoppages of traffic (less than 15 minutes) at various locations throughout the project area to allow the contractor to perform ITS work. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is December 2010. 
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, rehabilitation of the bridge on I-24 East over the US-27 ramp to I-24 East (MM 177-179) and the bridge on South Seminole Drive over I-24 (MM 181-183): The contractor will have nighttime lane closures in both I-24 work zones from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sundays through Thursdays to perform bridge rehabilitation work. At least one lane will be maintained at all times. At the I-24 Eastbound bridge site, a traffic shift is now in place, and I-24 East traffic will utilize the marked two-lane Exit 178 off-ramp as an I-24 East detour so the contactor can perform work on the bridge deck of I-24 East over US-27 North in downtown Chattanooga. This traffic shift will be in place until the project is completed. I-24 westbound traffic will not be affected. TheSouth Seminole Bridge over I-24 in Chattanooga is now reduced single-lane bridge. This one-lane operation is necessary to make repairs to the concrete deck surface of the bridge. Traffic signals have been installed at each end of the bridge to regulate the flow of traffic through the area. This one-lane traffic operation will remain in place for approximately four months while the repairs to the bridge are being completed. Motorists are advised to anticipate short delays when traveling through this area. Estimated project completion date is November 2010.

    • Tuesday September 7, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.: There will be two eastbound and one westbound lane closed.
    • Tuesday September 7, 5:00 p.m. through Wednesday September 8: There will be one eastbound and one westbound lane closed.
  • Various closures for existing four lane section (east of the arch spans):
    • Wednesday September 1, 12:00 a.m. through 6:00 a.m.: There will be one eastbound and one westbound lane closed.
    • Wednesday September 1, 7:00 p.m. through Thursday September 2, 6:00 a.m.: There will be one eastbound and one westbound lane closed.

REGION IV On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday September 1 through Friday September 3, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail and cable rail.
  • I-40, Shelby County, westbound (Mile Marker 8.5 to Mile Marker 7.2), two lanes to remain open.

FAYETTE COUNTY-Re-Surfacing on I-40 Eastbound MM 27 through MM 35:Tuesday September 7 through Friday September 10, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be one lane closed on I-40 eastbound, Mile Marker 27.0-Mile Marker 35.0, for paving operations. Tennessee Highway Patrol will assist with traffic control.

HENDERSON COUNTY-Resurfacing on I-40 between Mile Marker 115 and 121:Tuesday September 7 through Friday September 10, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.:There will be one lane closed on I-40 eastbound and westbound, for paving operations.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-40 and Robertson Road Interchange:(Recovery Act Project)
·         Thursday September 2, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound in order to remove overhang jacks. One lane will remain open in each direction. (On Thursday, I-40 westbound lanes will not be closed until 11PM).
·         Tuesday September 7 through Thursday September 9, 8PM-5AM, The I-40 westbound flyover bridge to Briley Pkwy. northbound will be closed in order to mill, pave, and stripe Briley Pkwy. northbound and the Robertson Rd. merge lane.
 
PUTNAM COUNTY, I-40 rockfall mitigation at various locations: The contractor will have a right shoulder closure in order to work on the project. Nighttime lane closures will be needed to set barrier rail to route traffic around construction activities. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Each lane has been narrowed to a 10 foot width. The possibility exists daily for potential traffic pacing due to rock blasting activities. Emergency lane closures on an as needed basis will be implemented during daylight hours to accommodate pothole repair.  All other lane closures will be from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Estimated project completion date is September 2010. 
 
ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East and West at Mile Marker 347.1:On Thursday night, September 2, 2010, motorists should be alert for temporary lane closures between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present, potential delays and use extreme caution through this area.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East at Lawnville Rd. (Exit 355):Motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure in this area as crews perform roadway maintenance activities. Motorists should expect potential delays and use extreme caution through this area.

KNOX COUNTY, I-40 East and West between Rutledge Pike (Exit 392) and the Holston River Bridge (MM 395):Motorists should be alert for possible nightly lane closures on Sunday nights through Thursday nights between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning through this resurfacing project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays, and use extreme caution through this area.

COCKE COUNTY, I-40 East bridge over the Pigeon River between Mile Markers 445 and 447: Motorists should be alert for lane closures through this bridge repair project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays and use extreme caution through this area.

KNOX COUNTY, I-140 West between Mile Markers 1.8 and 2.8: On Tuesday, September 7, 2010 motorists should be alert for a left lane closure in this area between Noon and 3 p.m. as crews perform maintenance on ITS devices. Motorists should use caution through this area.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Currently there is no access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. Motorists should use the Third Street Exit (Exit 7) and detour to Mallory. Riverside Drive from Mallory Avenue to Devant Street is closed. Motorists should use the newly constructed Riverport Road extension as an alternate route.
  • Wednesday September 1 & Thursday September 2, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures northbound (MM 8 to MM 9) in order to perform bridge construction between Bridges 1 & 2. One northbound lane will remain open.
  • Friday September 3, 6:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures northbound (MM 8 to MM 9) in order to perform bridge construction between Bridges 1 & 2. One northbound lane will remain open.

DYER COUNTY, I-155 Bridge Repair: 
  • Wednesday September 1 & Thursday September 2: Beginning at Mile Marker 9 in Missouri and extending to Mile Marker 1 in Tennessee.  There will be one eastbound & one westbound lane closed. This work is for the re-painting of the steel structure and for concrete repairs and is a 24 hour closure.
  • Friday September 3, 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Beginning at Mile Marker 9 in Missouri and extending to Mile Marker 1 in Tennessee.  There will be one eastbound & one westbound lane closed. This work is for the re-painting of the steel structure and for concrete repairs.

SUMNER COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday September 2, 9AM-3PM, There will be one lane closed on I-65 southbound at the 101.0 mile marker to the 103.0 mile marker in Sumner County in order to mow and cut brush on the right-of-way. One lane will remain open with visible traffic control in place.
 

FUTURE I-69
 
OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR-5/SR-22 to 0.78 mile west of SR-21
  • NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69. A detour route is posted.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location. A detour route is posted. There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.

 
I-75

ANDERSON & CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 between SR 61 (Exit 122) and SR 63 (Exit 141): On Thursday night, September 2, 2010, motorists should be alert for mobile lane closures between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews re-trace pavement markings. Motorists should be alert for slowed traffic, expect potential delays and use extreme caution traveling through this area.

ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 South between Exit 128 (Lake City) and Mile Marker 127: Motorists should be alert for workers present, equipment entering and exiting the roadway and use extreme caution through this noise wall construction project.

GREENE COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Markers 28 and 37:Motorists should be alert for nightly lane closures on Sunday nights through Thursday nights between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning through this resurfacing project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays, and use extreme caution through this area.
 
 
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
