Portion of Concord Road in Williamson County Will Reopen September 28, 2010

NASHVILLE – A portion of Concord Road (State Route 253) in Williamson County closed since June will reopen tomorrow, September 28, 2010. The closure, which stretched from Edmondson Pike to Crockett Road, allowed contract crews to accelerate the excavation and utility relocation work necessary for the widening of Concord Road.

While this portion of Concord Road will reopen to traffic tomorrow, it will remain a two lane roadway as widening work continues along the project. The contractor is completing work on a new walking path, laying sod, and hauling excavated material from the job site. Motorists should also be alert for temporary daytime lane closures throughout the project area.

The $5.3 million project, which began in August of 2009, will widen Concord Road from Edmondson Pike to Sunset Road. The project is estimated to be complete by December 2010.
