TDOT “Green Island” Grant Funds B20 and E85 Pumps in Weakley County

JACKSON, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation officials will join the Weakley County Chamber of Commerce Thursday, September 30 for the Grand Opening of the new Volunteer fueling station in Dresden, Tennessee. Volunteer is the first fueling station in the area to offer the biofuels B20 and E85 (Biodiesel and Ethanol 85). Volunteer is able to offer the fuels due in part to a TDOT awarded “Green Island” grant which provides funding to assist fueling stations with the installation of E85 and B20 fuel pumps.  The goal of the program is to encourage and expand the commercial availability of biofuels in Tennessee.
 
The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Volunteer fueling station in Dresden. The event will last approximately 30 minutes.
