DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Bridge Repair:Wednesday October 6 and Thursday October 7, 8PM-5AM, I-24 westbound from mile marker 48.8 (Woodland Street bridge) to 47.6 (Spring Street Bridge), two right lanes closed to repair potholes in bridge deck. One lane and ramps will remain open.
 
DAVIDSON and WILLIAMSON COUNTIES, ITS Phase III:
  • Thursday September 30 through Wednesday October 6, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM, There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to install devices, electrical service, and testing.
§ I-24, both directions, between Old Hickory Blvd and Bell Rd (MM 40 to MM 61)

DAVDISON COUNTY, Resurfacing on I-24 from SR 45 (OHB) to I-65
  • Thursday September 30 through Wednesday October 6, 8PM-6AM, There will be lane closures from the I-24/I-65 split westbound to the Old Hickory Blvd. exit in order to perform parapet repairs.
  • Thursday September 30 through Wednesday October 6, 8PM-6AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-24 eastbound in order to mill and pave the roadway. One lane will remain open. Temporary exit ramp closures may also be necessary to complete milling and paving operations.

REGION 3, Retracing of Pavement Markings on Interstate and State Routes
  • Thursday September 30 through Wednesday October 6, 8PM-5AM, There will be mobile operations on I-24 in Rutherford County from MM 70.5 to MM 97.0 in order to stripe the roadway.
  • Friday October 1, 8PM through Monday October 4, 5AM, There will be mobile operations on I-24 in Rutherford County from MM 70.5 to MM 97.0 in order to stripe the roadway.

COFFEE COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing project from U.S. 41 (MM 105) to SR-55 (MM 111): The contractor will have nighttime lane closures on I-24 from 7:00 PM-- 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursday nights to perform paving operations. One lane will be maintained in each direction at all times. Estimated project completion date is October 2010. 
 
MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor has installed construction signs and will be clearing, relocating utilities and installing barrier rail. Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 
 
HAMILTON, BRADLEY, and MARION COUNTIES, I-75 / I-24 / SR-153 / SR-29 construction of an intelligent transportation system on various interstate and state routes in and near Chattanooga: The contractor will implement shoulder closures throughout this report period within the project area on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and anytime on the weekend as part of the ITS construction. There also may be weeknight lane closures throughout the project between the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM, nighttime weekend lane closures between the hours of 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM, and intermittent temporary stoppages of traffic (less than 15 minutes) at various locations throughout the project area to allow the contractor to perform ITS work. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is December 2010. 
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, rehabilitation of the bridge on I-24 East over the U.S. 27 ramp to I-24 East (MM 177-179) and the bridge on South Seminole Drive over I-24 (MM 181-183): The contractor will have nighttime lane closures in both I-24 work zones from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sundays through Thursdays to perform bridge rehabilitation work. At least one lane will be maintained at all times. At the I-24 Eastbound bridge site, a traffic shift is now in place, and I-24 East traffic will utilize the marked two-lane Exit 178 off-ramp as an I-24 East detour so the contactor can perform work on the bridge deck of I-24 East over U.S. 27 North in downtown Chattanooga. This traffic shift will be in place until the project is completed. I-24 westbound traffic will not be affected. TheSouth Seminole Bridge over I-24 in Chattanooga is now reduced single-lane bridge. This one-lane operation is necessary to make repairs to the concrete deck surface of the bridge. Traffic signals have been installed at each end of the bridge to regulate the flow of traffic through the area. This one-lane traffic operation will remain in place while the repairs to the bridge are being completed. Motorists are advised to anticipate short delays when traveling through this area. Estimated project completion date is November 2010.

  • Various closures for existing six lane cross-section (arch spans and westward):
    • Wednesday September 29, through Wednesday October 6: There will be two eastbound and two westbound lanes closed.
  • Various closures for existing four lane section (east of the arch spans):
    • Wednesday September 29, through Wednesday October 6: There will be one eastbound and one westbound lane closed.
o    I-40 will be reduced to one eastbound and one westbound lane for traffic until mid-November 2010.
o    The westbound “On” ramp (Ramp IL/D) located just east of the arch spans will be closed.
 
REGION IV On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday September 29 through Tuesday October 5, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail and cable rail.

FAYETTE COUNTY-Re-Surfacing on I-40 Eastbound MM 27 through MM 35:Wednesday October 3 through October 8, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be one lane closed on I-40 eastbound, Mile Marker 27.0 through Mile Marker 35.0, for paving operations. Tennessee Highway Patrol will assist with traffic control.

HENDERSON COUNTY-Resurfacing on I-40 between Mile Marker 101 and 108:Sunday October 3 through Friday October 8, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be one lane closed on I-40, Mile Marker 101-Mile Marker 108, eastbound and westbound, for paving and cold planning operations. This is repair work only.

HENDERSON COUNTY-Resurfacing on I-40 between Mile Marker 115 and 121:Sunday October 3 through Friday October 8, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be one lane closed on I-40 eastbound and westbound, for paving operations.

  • Saturday October 2, 6AM through Monday October 4, 5AM, The Robertson Rd. ramp to I-40 westbound will be closed to pave, stripe, and open the new ramp. There will be one lane closed on Briley Pkwy. southbound in order to install overhead signs. Also, the outside lane of I-40 westbound will be closed in order to restripe the roadway.

WILSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday September 30, 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane closed on I-40 westbound between Hartman Lane and State Route 840 for milling and paving.  One lane will remain open.

REGION 3, Retracing of Pavement Markings on Interstate and State Routes
  • Thursday September 30 through Wednesday October 6, 8PM-5AM, There will be mobile operations on I-40 in Smith County from MM 250 to MM 259 in order to stripe the roadway.
  • Friday October 1, 8PM through Monday October 4, 5AM, There will be mobile operations on I-40 in Smith County from MM 250 to MM 259 in order to stripe the roadway.
  • Thursday September 30 and Friday October 1, 9AM-2PM, There will be mobile operations on I-40 in Wilson County MM 222.5 to MM 250.0 for striping testing.

PUTNAM COUNTY, I-40 resurfacing from SR-136 (MM 287, LM 19.65) to Falling Water River (MM 292, LM 24.16): The contractor will have nighttime lane and shoulder closures on I-40 from 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursday nights to perform paving operations. One lane will be maintained in each direction at all times. Estimated project completion date is November 2010. 
 
PUTNAM COUNTY, I-40 rockfall mitigation at various locations: The contractor will have a right shoulder closure in order to work on the project. Nighttime lane closures will be needed to set barrier rail to route traffic around construction activities. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Each lane has been narrowed to a 10 foot width. The possibility exists daily for potential traffic pacing due to rock blasting activities. Emergency lane closures on an as needed basis will be implemented during daylight hours to accommodate pothole repair.  All other lane closures will be from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Estimated project completion date is October 2010. 
 
COCKE COUNTY, I-40 East and West bridge over the Pigeon River Overflow near Mile Markers 440: Motorists should be alert for lane closures around the clock beginning Tuesday, October 5, 2010 through this bridge repair project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays and use extreme caution through this area.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Currently there is no access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. Motorists should use the Third Street Exit (Exit 7) and detour to Mallory. Riverside Drive from Mallory Avenue to Devant Street is closed. Motorists should use the newly constructed Riverport Road extension as an alternate route.
  • Wednesday September 29 through Wednesday October 6, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures northbound (Mile Marker 8 to Mile Marker 9) in order to perform bridge construction between Bridges 1 & 2. One northbound lane will remain open.

DYER COUNTY, I-155 Bridge Repair: Wednesday September 29 through Wednesday October 6: Beginning at Mile Marker 9 in Missouri and extending to Mile Marker 1 in Tennessee.  There will be one eastbound & one westbound lane closed. This work is for the re-painting of the steel structure and for concrete repairs and is a 24 hour closure.

  • NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69. A detour route is posted.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location. A detour route is posted. There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North between Mile Markers 131 and 132: On Thursday night, September 30, 2010, motorists should be alert for a left lane closure in this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. the following morning as crews perform drain cleaning along the median barrier wall. Motorists should be alert for slow moving equipment and use extreme caution traveling through this area.
 
CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North and South between Mile Markers 156 and 160: On Thursday night, September 30, 2010, motorists should be alert for a left lane closure in this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. the following morning as crews perform drain cleaning along the median barrier wall. Motorists should be alert for slow moving equipment and use extreme caution traveling through this area.
