Wood Duck, Teal Early Segment Opens September 11

NASHVILLE --- The early segment of the statewide hunting season for wood duck and teal will open on Saturday (Sept. 11) and will continue through Wednesday (Sept. 15).
 
The daily total bag limit is four ducks, with the harvest not to exceed two wood ducks. Along with all the other proper licenses, permits, and Federal Duck Stamp, resident and nonresident hunters must possess a Tennessee Migratory Bird Permit to hunt waterfowl and other migratory birds. The following do not need to have this permit: Landowners hunting on their own land; disabled veterans; Tennessee residents 65 or older; Tennessee residents under 13 years of age; Tennessee lifetime sportsman licenses holders and military personnel on leave or furlough (with proper documentation).
 
The early Canada goose season began Sept. 1 and it will also close on Sept. 15. The Canada goose daily bag limit is five.
