Monday, January 10, 2011 | 04:59am
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Due to inclement weather, the informational community meeting regarding the Wolf Creek Bridge project located on US 25/70 State Route 9 is canceled. The meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, January 11 from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Hot Springs, North Carolina Welcome Center at 106 Bridge Street. The meeting will be rescheduled, but no date has been set yet.

TDOT hosted a similar meeting in Newport, Tennessee on October 18, 2010 at the Newport City Hall. Newport and Hot Springs residents use the Wolf Creek Bridge as one route to get from Tennessee to North Carolina and vice versa. The concrete arch bridge in Cocke County is structurally deficient and will be carefully dismantled and reconstructed over the course of 30 to 36 months.

A website has also been created to find out more about the project and the detours. You can get more details at http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/wolfcreek/default.htm
