Escapee Captured

KNOXVILLE - An inmate who escaped from TDOC custody on Christmas Eve has now been captured.  Robert Lee Grant, 23, broke out of the Morgan County Correctional Complex - Annex by scaling a fence just before midnight on Christmas Eve.

Grant, who was serving a six-year sentence for narcotics and weapons convictions in Knox County, was captured just before 9:00 a.m. (EST) at a house in Knoxville.

Tennessee Department of Correction Internal Affairs Agents, Knox County Sheriff's Department and the TBI assisted in tracking down and arresting Grant this morning.  He will be housed at the Morgan County Correctional Complex and face escape charges.  Grant's sentence would have expired in 2014.
