Interstate Construction Report for October 13-19, 2011

I-24

CHEATHAM and ROBERTSON COUNTIES, TDOT Maintenance:

Thursday October 13 through Wednesday October 19, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Robertson County to move equipment between mile marker 25 and mile marker 17.20 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. This is between exit 24 (Springfield and Ashland City) and exit 19 (Adams).
Thursday October 13 through Wednesday October 19, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Cheatham and Robertson Counties to move equipment between mile marker 32 and mile marker 17.20 in order to do chemical control of vegetation. One lane will remain open. This is between exit 31 (New Hope Road) and exit 19 (Adams).

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:

Thursday October, 7PM-1AM, The right lane will be closed on I-24 eastbound at mile marker 37 (Old Hickory Blvd. at Joelton) for milling and paving. One lane will remain open.

Tuesday October 18, 8PM-4AM, The right lane will be closed on I-24 eastbound between Briley Parkway and Harding Place for milling and paving. One lane will remain open.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Bridge Inspection:Monday October 17 through Friday October 21, 9AM-3PM, The right lane of I-24 eastbound and westbound will be closed periodically for bridge inspection on the Silliman Evans Bridge over the Cumberland River. One lane will remain open on the ramps. Three lanes will remain open on the bridge.

MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor continues work on the bridge. Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6PM-6AM. Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2012.

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing beginning west of Chattanooga Creek (LM 6.18 / MM 177) to near Crest Rd. (LM 11.35 / MM 183), including bridge deck repair: The contractor has completed all contract items. A final inspection is scheduled for this time period and the contractor may need either one lane or two lanes closed (only 10PM-5AM) to address punchlist items. At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is October 2011.

SLLIVAN COUNTY, I-26 East and West near Mile Marker 6 (Welcome Center):On Monday, October 17, 2011 through Thursday, October 20, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. as crews perform work in this area. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

I-40

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday October 5 through Wednesday October 12, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

TDOT Region 4 On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday October 12 through Wednesday October 19, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.

· I-40, Madison County eastbound “On” ramp (MM 81.5 to MM 82.0), CLOSED.

· I-40, Madison County eastbound and westbound (MM 88.0 to MM 87.5), one lane to remain open.

· I-40, Decatur/Henderson Counties eastbound and westbound (MM 112.0 to MM 123.5), one lane to remain open.

· I-40, Benton County eastbound (MM 130.0 to MM 131.0), one lane to remain open.

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday October 13 through Wednesday October 19, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-40 in both directions in Cheatham County between mile marker 186 and mile marker 192 in order to patch potholes in the concrete bridge decks and to mill, pave, and stripe the roadway. One lane will remain open.

WILSON COUNTY, TDOT Bridge Inspection:Thursday October 13, 9:30 AM-12 Noon, One lane will be closed on I-40 westbound between SR 109 and Beckwith Road for bridge inspection. One lane will remain open.

WILSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday October 13, 8PM-3AM, The right lane will be closed on I-40 westbound at mile marker 237.6for bridge repair. One lane will remain open.

WILSON COUNTY, TDOT Utilities: Sunday October 16, 7AM-12 Noon, On I-40 passed the Water Town Exit at mile marker 248 in Wilson County. This request by AT&T for adding one fiber optic cable over I-40. Two rolling stop blocks are expected, police cars will be present.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 West near Mile Marker 353.3:On Monday night, October 17, 2011 and Tuesday night, October 18, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible temporary lane closure in this area between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable barrier repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

I-140

KNOX COUNTY, I-140 East near Northshore Drive (Exit 5):Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures in this area. Motorists should use caution through this area.

I-240

TDOT Region 4 On-Call Guardrail: Wednesday October 12 through Wednesday October 19, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.

· I-240, Shelby County northbound and southbound (MM 5.6), two lanes to remain open. This will include temporary ramp closure at the I-240 northbound ramp to westbound Union Avenue and the I-240 southbound ramp to westbound South Parkway.

I-440

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-440 Eastbound from I-65 to I-24:Thursday October 13 through Saturday October 15, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-440 eastbound in order to install barrier rail.

I-640

No construction activity to report at this time.

I-55

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.

Wednesday October 12 through Wednesday October 19, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures southbound at mile marker 8 to mile marker 9 in order to perform work on Interstate bridge 1. One southbound lane will remain open. Exit 9 (southbound, Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).

SHELBY COUNTY-Repair of I.C.G. Railroad Bridge over I-55 at Log Mile 7.23:Friday October 14, 7:00 p.m. through Tuesday October 18, 7:00 p.m.: There will be two (2) lanes of northbound I-55 closed, one lane will remain open. During peaks hours, 6:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday two (2) lanes will be open and one (1) lane will be closed. Wide loads (11’) will be restricted from northbound I-55 LM-7.00 to LM-7.31.

SHELBY COUNTY, Safety Improvement on the Ramps to I-55 at junction of Crump Boulevard:Wednesday October 12 through Wednesday October 19, 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. : There will continue to be a lane closure and shoulder closure for clearing operations at Ramp A and permanent removal of ramps leading to I-55.

I-65

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 248 (Goose Creek) to SR 96:Thursday October 13 and Tuesday October 18, 12 Noon, Traffic will be paced on I-65 northbound and southbound between MM 62.0 and MM 63.0 in order to blast.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 ramp to Old Hickory Blvd (Brentwood):Thursday October 13, 9PM-5AM, The center turn lane on Old Hickory Blvd. westbound to I-65 southbound will be closed in order to restripe the roadway.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday October 13 through Wednesday October 19, 8PM-3AM, (excluding weekends), The right lane will be closed on I-65 northbound at Rosa Parks Blvd. for vegetation and rock removal. One lane will remain open.

ROBERTSON and SUMNER COUNTIES:Thursday October 13 through Wednesday October 19, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-65 in both directions in Robertson and Sumner Counties between mile marker 103 and mile marker 119 to mill, pave, and stripe the roadway in various locations. One lane will remain open.

FUTURE I-69

OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR-5/SR-22 to 0.78 mile west of SR-21:

NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69. A detour route is posted.

NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location. A detour route is posted. There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.

I-75

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 design-build project from Enterprise South interchange (Exit 9) to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.: The contractor is constructing the new bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy. Estimated completion date is January 2012.

I-275

KNOX COUNTY, I-275 South Ramp to I-40 East: On Wednesday, October 19, 2011 motorists should be alert for a possible temporary lane closure between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. as crews perform maintenance on ITS devices. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution in this area.
