Music & Molasses Festival Features Special Farm Exhibit

- Fun fall activities and crafts for the entire family Oct. 15 and 16 -

NASHVILLE – This weekend’s Annual Music & Molasses Arts & Crafts Festival at Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville will feature a special exhibit on American farmers and the challenges of meeting world demand for food, fuel and clothing.

Monsanto’s Mobile Experience exhibit will headline at the festival. The exhibit is a 53-foot semi-trailer with 1,000 square-feet of educational videos, displays and interactive kiosks. The exhibit provides a fascinating look at the vital role America’s farmers play in producing for a growing world. "This is a huge weekend of family fun, and we’re excited that Monsanto is bringing their Mobile Experience to the festival," said Anne Dale, director of the Tennessee Agricultural Museum. “We’ll have music, square dancing, horse-drawn wagon rides, molasses cooking and lots of great food. Tennessee crafts and unique items will also be available for purchase.”

This year’s festival honorary chair is state Agriculture Commissioner Julius Johnson. A Nashville tradition for 19 years now, the festival is Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 with children 4 and under free. There is no cost for parking. Proceeds benefit the Tennessee Agricultural Museum.
