Interstate Construction Report for October 20-26, 2011

I-24
 
ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 26, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM,  There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Robertson County to move equipment between mile marker 25 and mile marker 17.2 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. This is between exit 24 (Springfield and Ashland City) and exit 19 (Adams). (Weather permitting)

MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor continues work on the bridge. Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6PM-6AM. Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing beginning west of Chattanooga Creek (LM 6.18 / MM 177) to near Crest Rd. (LM 11.35 / MM 183), including bridge deck repair:  The contractor has completed all contract items. A final inspection is scheduled for this time period and the contractor may need either one lane or two lanes closed (only 10PM-5AM) to address punchlist items. At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is October 2011.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, I-26 East and West near Mile Marker 6 (Welcome Center):Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures as crews perform work in this area.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday October 19 through Wednesday October 26, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

TDOT Region 4 On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday October 19 through Wednesday October 26, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.
·         I-40, Shelby County westbound “Off” ramp (MM 11A.4) @ Summer Avenue, CLOSED.
·         I-40, Madison County eastbound “On” ramp (MM 81.5 to MM 82.0), CLOSED.
·         I-40, Madison County eastbound and westbound (MM 88.0 to MM 87.5), one lane to remain open.
·         I-40, Decatur/Henderson Counties eastbound and westbound (MM 112.0 to MM 123.5), one lane to remain open.
·         I-40, Benton County eastbound (MM 130.0 to MM 131.0), one lane to remain open.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Tuesday, October 25 and Wednesday, October 26, 8PM-1AM, The right and center lanes will be closed on I-40 westbound at mile marker 196.9 for pothole repair. The left lane will remain open. (Weather permitting

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Utilities:Sunday October 23, 6AM-8AM and 8AM-10AM, There will be two rolling stop blocks on Briley Parkway approx. 600' south of 63rd Ave. at or about mile marker 27.5 and on I-40 approximately 3000’ west of Robertson Avenue at mm 203.3, police cars will be present. XO Communications will be adding a Strand & Fiber Optic Cable for the new West Police Precinct.

WILSON COUNTY – 1-40 Design Build Survey Work:Thursday October 20, 8PM-6AM, The inside lane of I-40 East and West from SR 171 to SR 109 will be closed to perform median work. One lane will remain open.
 
WILSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Tuesday, October 25, 8PM-3AM, The left lane will be closed on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 246.7for milling and paving.  One lane will remain open. (Weather permitting)   

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 West near Mile Marker 340.8:On Monday night, October 24, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible temporary lane closure in this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

COCKE COUNTY, I-40 East and West near Mile Marker 435: On Saturday, October 22, 2011 and Sunday, October 23, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. as crews replace pavement markings. Motorists should be alert for slow moving equipment and use extreme caution in this area.

KNOX COUNTY, I-140 East near Northshore Drive (Exit 5):Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures in this area. Motorists should use caution through this area.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday October 19 through Wednesday October 26, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY-Repair of I.C.G. Railroad Bridge over I-55 at Log Mile 7.23:Wednesday October 19, 7:00 p.m. through Thursday October 20, 7:00 p.m.: There will be two (2) lanes of northbound I-55 closed, one lane will remain open. During peaks hours, 6:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday two (2) lanes will be open and one (1) lane will be closed. Wide loads (11’) will be restricted from northbound I-55 LM-7.00 to LM-7.31.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.
  • Wednesday October 19 through Wednesday October 26, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures southbound at mile marker 8 to mile marker 9 in order to perform work on Interstate bridge 1. One southbound lane will remain open. Exit 9 (southbound, Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).

SHELBY COUNTY, Safety Improvement on the Ramps to I-55 at junction of Crump Boulevard:Wednesday October 19 through Wednesday October 26, 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. : There will continue to be a lane closure and shoulder closure for clearing operations at Ramp A and permanent removal of ramps leading to I-55.

SHELBY COUNTY-SURVEY WORK, I-55 at CRUMP INTERCHANGE:
  • Saturday October 22, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be temporary lane closures northbound and southbound, from the east end of the Mississippi River Bridge to Riverside Drive, in order to perform survey work. One lane will remain open in each direction, weather permitting.
  • LOOK AHEAD: Saturday October 29, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be temporary lane closures northbound and southbound, from 500’ south of the Wisconsin Road overpass to Crump Boulevard, in order to perform survey work. One lane will remain open in each direction, weather permitting.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 248 (Goose Creek) to SR 96:
  • Thursday October 20 and Friday October 21, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-65 North and South between Highway 96 and the Harpeth River in order to remove portable barrier rail.
  • Monday October 24 through Wednesday October 26, 8PM-5AM, There will be temporary lane closures on I-65 North and South from SR 248 to SR 96 in order to pave.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 26, 8PM-3AM, (excluding weekends), The right lane will be closed on I-65 northbound at Rosa Parks Blvd. for vegetation and rock removal. One lane will remain open. (Weather permitting)

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 26, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-65 in both directions in Robertson County between mile marker 104 and mile marker 119 to mill, pave, and stripe the roadway in various locations. One lane will remain open. (Weather permitting)


FUTURE I-69
 
OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR 5/SR 22 to 0.78 mile west of SR 21:
  • NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69. A detour route is posted.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location. A detour route is posted. There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.

 
I-75
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 design-build project from Enterprise South interchange (Exit 9) to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.: The contractor is constructing the new bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy. Estimated completion date is January 2012. 
 
CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North and South between Mile Markers 130 and 160: On Friday, October 21, 2011 thru Sunday, October 23, 2011, motorists should be alert for a mobile lane closure between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. as crews retrace pavement marking lines. Motorists should be alert for slow moving equipment and use extreme caution in this area.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North and South near Mile Marker 131.6: On Sunday night, October 23, 2011 and Monday night, October 24, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible temporary lane closure in this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.
