Tennessee Forestry Commission to Meet Nov. 8

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Forestry Commission will meet Nov. 8 at 12:30 p.m. EST at the Martha Sundquist State Forest in Cocke County. The meeting will be held outdoors at 3722 Gulf Road in Hartford, Tenn. In case of inclement weather, the commission will meet at the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry’s Natural Resources Center located at 1250 Highway 73 near Edwina, Tenn.

The commission will review a draft report to the legislature, hear a report and consider recommendations on state building standards for environmental certification as it relates to wood materials, and hear an update on the recently formed Agriculture and Forestry Economic Development Task Force.

The meeting is open to the public. Individuals interested in addressing the commission should plan to arrive prior to the start of the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.

The Tennessee Forestry Commission comprises seven members representing the public’s interests as it relates to forest resources in the state.
