Alton Park/Piney Woods Community Discussed at Public Meeting

CHATTANOOGA – Representatives of the Tennessee Department of Health’s Environmental Epidemiology Program will hold a public meeting on Thursday, October 27, 2011, in Chattanooga for the Alton Park/Piney Woods community. The meeting will provide information about the state and local environmental agencies that regulate industries in Alton Park. Residents can learn what the agencies do, how they accomplish their work and how to get assistance.

Organizations to be represented include the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau, Moccasin Bend Sewage Treatment Plant, the state Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Program, state Division of Remediation (Superfund), state Water Pollution Control and the state Environmental Epidemiology Program.
