Interstate Construction Report for October 27 - November 2, 2011

I-24

 

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday October 27 through Wednesday November 2, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM,  There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Robertson County to move equipment between mile marker 25 and mile marker 17.2 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway.  One lane will remain open.  This is between exit 24 (Springfield and Ashland City) and exit 19 (Adams).


MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving:  The contractor continues work on the bridge.  Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6PM-6AM.  Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed.  Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 


HAMILTON COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing beginning west of Chattanooga Creek (LM 6.18 / MM 177) to near Crest Rd. (LM 11.35 / MM 183), including bridge deck repair:  The contractor has completed all contract items.  A final inspection is scheduled for this time period and the contractor may need either one lane or two lanes closed (only 10PM-5AM) to address punchlist items.  At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Estimated project completion date is October 2011.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, I-26 East and West near Mile Marker 6 (Welcome Center): On Monday, October 31, 2011 and Tuesday November 1, 2011 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., there will be inside lane closures in both directions.  Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures, workers present and use caution in this area.


SULLIVAN COUNTY I-26 West between Mile Markers 7 & 8 :  Motorists should be alert for a lane closure on I-26 West in Sullivan County on Wednesday, November 2, 2011  between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for roadway maintenance operations.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

 

WASHINGTON COUNTY,  I-26 East near Mile Marker 13: Motorists should be alert for a lane closure on I-26 East near Exit 13 on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for roadway maintenance operations. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

 

UNICOI COUNTY, I-26 West near Mile Marker 33.1: On Friday, October 28, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures through this area between the hours of 9 a.m.. and 3 p.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

 

 

I-40

 

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance: Wednesday October 26 through Wednesday November 2, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.


SHELBY COUNTY, ON-Call Concrete Pavement Repair, I-40:

  • LOOK AHEAD:  Monday November 07 through Wednesday November 16, 8PM-6AM:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound (MM 2.6 to MM 5.0), for sawing of concrete pavement for repairs.  One lane will remain open.
  • LOOK AHEAD:  Friday November 11, 8PM through Monday November 14, 6AM:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound (MM 2.6 to MM 5.0), for removal and replacement of concrete pavement.  Two lanes will remain open.


TDOT Region 4 On-Call Guardrail: Wednesday October 26 through Wednesday November 2, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.

·         I-40, Shelby County eastbound & westbound (MM 12.0 to MM 18.0), two lanes to remain open.  This also includes a temporary ramp closure @ Exit 18 westbound “On” ramp from US-64.

·         I-40, Haywood County eastbound & westbound (MM 48.5 to MM 58.5), one lane to remain open.

·         I-40, Madison County eastbound & westbound (MM 71.5 to MM 79.5), one lane to remain open.

·         I-40, Henderson County westbound (MM 108.0 to MM 116.0), one lane to remain open.

·         I-40, Decatur County westbound (MM 122.5 to MM 123.5), one lane to remain open.

·         I-40, Benton County eastbound & westbound (MM 129.0 to MM 134.5), one lane to remain open.


DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Monday October 31 through Wednesday November 2, 8PM-1AM, The right lane and center lane will be closed on I-40 westbound at mile marker 196.9 for pothole repair.  The left lane will remain open. 

 

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East near Mile Marker 353.3: On Thursday, November 3, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures through this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform cable barrier repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.


 

I-140

 

KNOX COUNTY, I-140 East and West between Mile Markers 1 and 4: On Monday, October 31, 2011, motorists should be alert for temporary lane closures between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in this area as crews perform roadway maintenance repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution through this area.


KNOX COUNTY, I-140 East near Northshore Drive (Exit 5): Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures in this area. Motorists should use caution through this area.



I-240

 

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance: Wednesday October 26 through Wednesday November 2, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-440 Eastbound from I-65 to I-24: Thursday October 27 through November 3: No closures scheduled.

I-55


REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance: Wednesday October 26 through Wednesday November 2, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.


SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue:  I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction.  Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.

  • Wednesday October 26 through Wednesday November 2, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures southbound at mile marker 8 to mile marker 9 in order to perform work on Interstate bridge 1.  One southbound lane will remain open.  Exit 9 (southbound, Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).


SHELBY COUNTY-SURVEY WORK, I-55 at the CRUMP INTERCHANGE: Saturday October 29, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.:  There will be temporary lane closures northbound and southbound, from 500’ south of the Wisconsin Road overpass to Crump Boulevard, in order to perform survey work.  One lane will remain open in each direction, weather permitting.


SHELBY COUNTY, Safety Improvement on the Ramps to I-55 at junction of Crump Boulevard: Wednesday October 26 through Wednesday November 2, 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. :  There will continue to be a lane closure and shoulder closure for clearing operations at Ramp A and permanent removal of ramps leading to I-55.



I-155

 

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance: Wednesday October 26 through Wednesday November 2, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.


 

I-65


WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 248 (Goose Creek) to SR 96: Thursday October 27 through Wednesday November 2, 8PM-5AM, There will be temporary lane closures on I-65 North and South from SR 248 to SR 96 in order to pave.


DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday October 27 through Wednesday November 2, 8PM-3AM, (excluding weekends), The right lane will be closed on I-65 northbound at Rosa Parks Blvd. for vegetation and rock removal.  One lane will remain open. 


ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday October 27 through Wednesday November 2, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-65 in both directions in Robertson County between mile marker 104 and mile marker 119 to mill, pave, and stripe the roadway in various locations.  One lane will remain open.




FUTURE I-69

 

OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR 5/SR 22 to 0.78 mile west of SR 21:

  • NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69.  A detour route is posted.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location.  A detour route is posted.  There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.


 

I-75

 

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 design-build project from Enterprise South interchange (Exit 9) to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.:  The contractor is constructing the new bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy.  Estimated completion date is January 2012. 

 

KNOX COUNTY, I-75 South between Emory Road (Exit 112) and Callahan Drive (Exit 110):  Motorist should be alert for a right lane closure on I-75 South between MM 112 (Emory Rd) and MM 110 (Callahan Dr) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. as maintenance crews perform roadway repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use caution in this area.

 

ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 South near Mile Marker 118.6: On Thursday, November 3, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures through this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform cable barrier repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.
