Interstate Construction Report for October 6 - 12, 2011

I-24
 
CHEATHAM and ROBERTSON COUNTIES, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday October 6 through Wednesday October 12, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Cheatham and Robertson Counties to move equipment between mile marker 32 and mile marker 17.20 in order to do chemical control of vegetation. One lane will remain open. This is between exit 31 (New Hope Road) and exit 19 (Adams).

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday October 6 through Wednesday October 12, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12 Noon,  There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Robertson County to move equipment between mile marker 25 and mile marker 17.20 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. This is between exit 24 (Springfield and Ashland City) and exit 19 (Adams).

REGION 3, On Call Concrete Repair:Thursday October 6 through Wednesday October 12, 6AM-8PM, Traffic on the I-24 westbound exit ramp at exit 74-A (SR 840) and exit 81 in Rutherford County will be shifted in order to perform concrete work on the ramp. Also, on SR 840 eastbound and westbound exit 53A traffic on the ramp will be shifted for concrete repairs. One lane will remain open.

MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor continues work on the bridge. Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6PM-6AM. Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing beginning west of Chattanooga Creek (LM 6.18 / MM 177) to near Crest Rd. (LM 11.35 / MM 183), including bridge deck repair: The contractor has completed all contract items. A final inspection is scheduled for this time period and the contractor may need either one lane or two lanes closed (only 10PM-5AM) to address punchlist items. At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is October 2011.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, I-26 East near Mile Marker 15.4:On Sunday night, October 9, 2011,motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures through this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday October 5 through Wednesday October 12, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday October 6 through Friday October 7, 6PM-6AM, There will be one lane closed on I-40 westbound in Humphreys County between mile marker 141 and mile marker 142 for milling and paving. One lane will remain open.

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday September 29 through Wednesday October 5, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-40 in both directions in Cheatham County between mile marker 186 and mile marker 192 in order to patch potholes in the concrete bridge decks and to mill, pave, and stripe the roadway. One lane will remain open.  

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
  • Thursday October 6 through Wednesday October 12, 8PM-1AM, (excluding weekends), The right lane will be closed on I-40 eastbound between mile marker 208 and mile marker 209 for rock removal. One lane will remain open. 
  • Thursday October 6 through Wednesday October 12, 8PM-1AM, (excluding weekends), The right lane will be closed on I-40 westbound between mile marker 209 and mile marker 208 for rock removal. One lane will remain open. 

WILSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Tuesday October 11, 8PM-3AM, The right lane will be closed on I-40 westbound at mile marker 237.6for bridge repair.  One lane will remain open.


LOUDON COUNTY, I-40 West Ramp to I-75 South: On Monday night, October 10, 2011, motorists should be alert for a temporary lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform roadway maintenance repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution in this area.

KNOX COUNTY, Various locations on I-40, I-640, I-275 and I-75: On Sunday night, October 9, 2011 through Thursday night, October 13, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform roadway maintenance. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution.

KNOX COUNTY, I-140 East near Northshore Drive (Exit 5):Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures in this area. Motorists should use caution through this area.

TDOT Region 4 On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday October 5 through Wednesday October 12, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.
·         I-240, Shelby County southbound (MM 5.0 to MM 6.0), two lanes to remain open.
·         I-240, Shelby County westbound (MM 17.0 to MM 19.5), two lanes to remain open.
·         I-240, Shelby County eastbound (MM 23.5 to MM 24.0), two lanes to remain open.
·         I-240, Shelby County southbound (MM 30.0 to MM 29.5), two lanes to remain open. “On” ramp from Madison Avenue, CLOSED.

 
I-440
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-440 Eastbound from I-65 to I-24:Monday October 10 through Wednesday October 12, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-440 eastbound in order to install barrier rail.

 
I-640
 
KNOX COUNTY, Various locations on I-40, I-640, I-275 and I-75: On Sunday night, October 9, 2011 through Thursday night, October 13, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform roadway maintenance. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution.

 
I-55

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday October 5 through Wednesday October 12, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

TDOT Region 4 On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday October 5 through Wednesday October 12, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.
·         I-55, Shelby County northbound “Off” ramp to I-240 eastbound (MM 5.6), CLOSED.
·         I-55, Shelby County northbound “On” ramp Exit 12C, CLOSED.

SHELBY COUNTY-Repair of I.C.G. Railroad Bridge over I-55 at Log Mile 7.23:Friday October 7, 7:00 p.m. through Tuesday October 18, 7:00 p.m.: There will be two (2) lanes of northbound I-55 closed, one lane will remain open. During peaks hours, 6:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday two (2) lanes will be open and one (1) lane will be closed. Wide loads (11’) will be restricted from northbound I-55 LM-7.00 to LM-7.31.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.
  • Wednesday October 5 through Wednesday October 12, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures southbound at mile marker 8 to mile marker 9 in order to perform work on Interstate bridge 1. One southbound lane will remain open. Exit 9 (southbound, Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).

SHELBY COUNTY, Safety Improvement on the Ramps to I-55 at junction of Crump Boulevard:Wednesday October 5 through Wednesday October 12, 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. : There will continue to be a lane closure and shoulder closure for clearing operations at Ramp A and permanent removal of ramps leading to I-55.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday October 5 through Wednesday October 12, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

 
I-65

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 248 (Goose Creek) to SR 96:Thursday October 6 and Tuesday October 11, 12 Noon, Traffic will be paced on I-65 northbound and southbound between MM 62.0 and MM 63.0 in order to blast.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 ramp to Old Hickory Blvd (Brentwood):Saturday October 8, 9PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on the southbound I-65 off ramp to Old Hickory Blvd. and westbound OHB at I-65 to restripe the roadway. 

ROBERTSON and SUMNER COUNTIES, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday October 6 through Wednesday October 12, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-65 in both directions in Robertson and Sumner Counties between mile marker 103 and mile marker 119 to mill, pave, and stripe the roadway in various locations. One lane will remain open.


FUTURE I-69
 
OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR-5/SR-22 to 0.78 mile west of SR-21
  • NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69. A detour route is posted.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location. A detour route is posted. There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.

 
I-75
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 design-build project from Enterprise South interchange (Exit 9) to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.:The contractor is constructing the new bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy. Estimated completion date is January 2012. 
 
LOUDON COUNTY, I-75 North and South near Mile Marker 74:  Bridge repairs are complete and all lanes across the bridge have been reopened to traffic.

GREENE COUNTY, I-81 South near Mile Markers 22.5 and 20.1:On Sunday night, October 9, 2011,motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures through this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, I-81 North near Mile Marker 63.7:On Sunday night, October 9, 2011,motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures through this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

 
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
