MEMPHIS, Tenn. –A project to repair the I.C.G. Railroad Bridge that crosses over Interstate 55 in Shelby County will begin tomorrow and will require lane closures on I-55 North for the next several days. Beginning Friday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. through Tuesday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m., two lanes of I-55 North at mile marker 7 will be closed while repairs are being made. During weekdays, however, two lanes of I-55 Northbound will remain open from 6:00 a.m. through 9:00 a.m.

Closures for this project could result in delays. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and avoid the area if at all possible. Law enforcement officers will be on site in the work zone to provide traffic control as the work is being completed. TDOT also asks drivers to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones across the state. All work is weather dependent.
