Traffic Alert Washington County

Thursday, December 22, 2011 | 05:53am
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On Tuesday, December 27th, State Route 75 will be closed to thru traffic near Sam Aiken Road in Washington County between the hours of 9am and 5pm. To detour, drivers can use US 11E and State Route 81.

Additionally, on Wednesday, December 28th, State Route 75 will be reduced to one lane at this location between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

This work schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions and may require adjustments in the event of inclement weather.

This lane closure is an exception so that work can be performed while students are out on Christmas break to avoid detouring school buses.

Because of the busy holiday travel period ahead, there will be no temporary lane closures allowed on interstates or state routes from noon on Friday, December 23rd through January 2nd at 6am, except for a few long term closures which must remain in place for safety.
