Interstate Construction Report for December 8-14, 2011

I-24
 
Montgomery & Robertson Counties:Thursday December 8 through Wednesday December 14, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM,  There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Montgomery and Robertson Counties to move equipment between mile marker 25 and mile marker 14 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway.  One lane will remain open.  This is between exit 24 (SR-49/Springfield and Ashland City) and exit 11 (SR-76/Adams-Clarksville).

MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor continues work on the bridge.  Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6PM-6AM.  Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed.  Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing beginning west of Chattanooga Creek (LM 6.18 / MM 177) to near Crest Rd. (LM 11.35 / MM 183), including bridge deck repair: The contractor has completed all contract items.  The contractor may need either one lane or two lanes closed (only 10PM-5AM) to address punchlist items.  At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Estimated project completion date is December 2011.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, I-26 East and West near Mile Markers 11.4 and 13.4:On Monday night, December 12, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable rail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, I-26 West near Mile Markers 15.7:On Sunday night, December 11, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform guardrail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

UNICOI COUNTY, I-26 East near Mile Marker 50:On Friday, December 2, 2011 through Wednesday, December 7, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closure through this area between the hours of 6a.m.. and 8p.m. as crews perform concrete pavement repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday December 7 through Wednesday December 14, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, ON-Call Concrete Pavement Repair, I-40:
·         Tuesday November 29 through Wednesday December 21, 8PM-6AM:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound & westbound (MM 2.4 to MM 5.0), for full depth sawing and sealing.  One lane will remain open.
·         Friday December 2, 8PM through Monday December 5, 6AM:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound and westbound (MM 2.6 to MM 5.2), for concrete pavement repairs and sealing.  Two lanes will remain open.
·         LOOK AHEAD:  Friday December 16, 8PM through Monday December 19, 6AM:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound and westbound (MM 2.6 to MM 5.2), for concrete pavement repairs and sealing.  Two lanes will remain open.

TDOT REGION 4 On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday December 7 through Wednesday December 14, 8:00 PM-6:00 AM:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.
·         I-40/I-240 East Interchange, Shelby County eastbound & westbound @ Sam Cooper Blvd., two lanes will remain open.

HICKMAN COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday December 8 through Wednesday December 14, (excluding weekends), 9AM-3PM, There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 in both direction in Hickman County between mile marker 148 and mile marker 163 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.  One lane will remain open.

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
  • Thursday December 8 through Wednesday December 14, (excluding weekends), 9AM-3PM, There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 in both direction in Humphreys County between mile marker 134 and mile marker 148 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.  One lane will remain open.   
  • Thursday December 8, 6PM-11PM, There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 eastbound in Humphreys County between mile marker 143 and mile marker 148 in order to pave various locations.  One lane will remain open.

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday December 8 through Wednesday December 14,  (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-40 in both direction in Cheatham County between mile marker 186 and mile marker 192 in order to patch potholes in the concrete bridge decks.  One lane will remain open.

WILSON COUNTY, Miscellaneous Safety Improvements:Thursday December 8 through Tuesday December 13, 8PM-6AM, (excluding Saturday and Sunday), There will be one lane closed on the I-40 westbound ramp to SR 840 at LM 10.8 to LM 10.93 in order to install guardrail in Wilson County.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40East near Mile Marker 342:Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures through this slope stabilization project.  Motorists should reduce speed and use extreme caution through this area.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40East near Mile Marker 355.5: On Sunday night, December 11, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable rail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

I-440
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, Repair of 14 Bridges over I-440:
  • Thursday December 8 through Friday December 9, 9AM-3PM, There will be shoulder closures on I-440 eastbound at Acklen Park Bridge for bridge work.  There will also be a lane shift on the Acklen Park Bridge for sidewalk repair. 
  • Monday December 12 through Wednesday December 14, 9AM-3PM, There will be shoulder closures on I-440 eastbound at Murphy Rd. Bridge for bridge work.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-440 Eastbound from I-65 to I-24:Thursday December 8 through December 14: No closures scheduled.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday December 7 through Wednesday December 14, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

TDOT REGION 4 On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday December 7 through Wednesday December 14, 8:00 PM-6:00 AM:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.
·         I-55, Shelby County northbound & southbound (MM 4.0 to MM 6.0) including Exit 25A “Off “ ramp to I-240.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: Wednesday December 7 through Wednesday December 14, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures southbound at mile marker 8 to mile marker 9 in order to perform work on Interstate bridge 1.  One southbound lane will remain open.  Exit 9 (southbound, Mallory Exit) will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).  I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction.  Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.

SHELBY COUNTY, Safety Improvement on the Ramps to I-55 at junction of Crump Boulevard:Wednesday December 7, through Wednesday December 14, 8:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.:  There will be “rolling” lane closures on I-55 and Crump for paving operations, installation of signs and guardrail, throughout the limits of the project.
 
Shelby County, -I-55 Bridge:Wednesday December 14 & Thursday December 15, 9:00 AM-3:00 PM:  There will be intermittent lane closures southbound and northbound to repair/replace some of the ITS devices on the bridge.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday December 7 through Wednesday December 14, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

 
I-65

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 248 (Goose Creek) to SR 96:Thursday December 8 through December 14: No closures scheduled.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday December 8 through Wednesday December 14, (excluding weekends), 8PM-3AM, The right lane will be closed on I-65 at Rosa Parks Blvd. for vegetation and rock removal.  One lane will remain open. 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Geotechnical Drilling on I-65 at Trinity Lane:Monday December 12 through Wednesday December 14, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-65 north and southbound just north of the Trinity Lane exit in order to perform geotechnical drilling for future project design.  Three lanes will remain open.
 
ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday December 8 through Wednesday December 14, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-65 in both directions in Robertson County between mile marker 104 and mile marker 119 to mill, pave, and stripe the roadway in various locations.  One lane will remain open.


FUTURE I-69
 
OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR 5/SR 22 to 0.78 mile west of SR 21:
  • Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City is now open.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location.  A detour route is posted.  There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.

 
I-75
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 design-build project from Enterprise South interchange (Exit 9) to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.: The contractor is constructing the new bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy.  Estimated completion date is January 2012. 
 
LOUDON COUNTY, I-75 North and South near Mile Markers 77.9 and 79.3:On Monday night, December 12, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform guardrail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 South near Mile Marker 119.4:On Tuesday night, December 13, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable rail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 North near Mile Marker 129.7:On Tuesday night, December 13, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable barrier repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North near Mile Marker 144.3:On Monday night, December 12, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform guardrail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.
