Interstate Construction Report for March 10-16, 2011

REGION 3 On-Call Guardrail:Thursday March 10 through Tuesday March 15, 8PM-6AM, (each night), There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates and state routes in Davidson, Wilson, Maury, Giles, and Rutherford Counties for guardrail and attenuator repair.

REGION 3, On-Call Cable Barrier Repair:Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 8PM-6AM, There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates and state routes in order to repair cable barrier rail.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, (excluding weekends), 9AM-4PM, There will be one lane closed periodically on I-24 westbound in Montgomery County between mile marker 8 and mile marker 11 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. Exit 11 is S.R. 76 Adams and Clarksville Exit, and Exit 8 is S.R. 237 Rossview Road Exit.

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, (excluding weekends), 9AM-4PM, There will be one lane closed periodically on I-24 in both directions in Robertson County between mile marker 25 and mile marker 19 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. This is between exit 24 (Springfield and Ashland City) and Exit 19 (Adams).
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
  • Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
  • Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 9AM-3PM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for ditch cleaning. 
  • Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 9AM-3PM, and 7PM-1AM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for vegetation control. This will affect the shoulders or inside and outside lanes.
  • Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 9AM-3PM, and 7PM-1AM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for shoulder work. This will affect the shoulders or inside and outside lanes.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Bridge Repair: Thursday March 10, 8PM-5AM, I-24 westbound at mile marker 58.6 (over Mill Creek), two right lanes closed to repair potholes in bridge deck. Two lanes will remain open.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, Repair of the I-24 (Silliman Evans) Bridge over Nashville & Eastern Railroad:
  • Saturday March 12, 6AM-6PM and Sunday March 13, 6AM through Monday March 14, 6AM, The right lane of I-24 eastbound will be closed for concrete repair.
  • Monday March 14 through Thursday March 17, 8PM-6AM, The outside lane and shoulder will be closed on I-24 eastbound in order to install the containment system used in sandblast and paint operations. 

DAVIDSON and RUTHERFORD COUNTIES, ITS Phase III:Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM, There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to install devices, electrical service, and testing. 
  • I-24, both directions, between Hickory Hollow Pkwy and Waldron Rd (MM 62 to MM 64)

MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor will be extending the barrier rail entrance and exits to accommodate trucks entering and exiting the median in the construction of the detour for Phase One. Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing beginning west of Chattanooga Creek (LM 6.18 / MM 177) to near Crest Rd. (LM 11.35 / MM 183), including bridge deck repair: The contractor will begin installing signs on I‑24 East and West beginning on Monday March 14. Some work may be done during the day. However, lane closures are restricted to nighttime between the hours of 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursday.

UNICOI COUNTY, I-26 between Mile Markers 36 and 40: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures during daylight hours and use caution through this resurfacing project.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday March 9 through March 16, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: There will be temporary lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, Bridge Rehabilitation on I-40 over Sam Cooper : The next 5 weekends, some weekdays, closures are planned to complete these repairs.
  • Friday March 11, 8:00 p.m. through Wednesday March 16, 6:00 a.m.: There will be lane closures eastbound to repair the I-40 bridge deck over Sam Cooper Blvd. There will be 2 lanes closed and two lanes open on I-40. Sam Cooper will have one lane open and one lane closed under the bridge.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge Repair on Davies Plantation Road over I-40 LM-1.38:Friday, March 11, 8:00 p.m. through Monday March 14, 5:00 a.m.: There will be lane closures eastbound and westbound at the Davies Plantation overpass, one lane will remain open in each direction.

SHELBY COUNTY, On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday March 9 through Wednesday March 16, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guard rail:
·         I-40, Shelby County eastbound and westbound (MM 12.5 to MM 19.0), two lanes to remain open.
·         I-40, Fayette County eastbound and westbound (MM 29.0 to MM 42.0), one lane to remain open.
·         I-40, Haywood/Fayette Counties eastbound (MM 33.5 to MM 54.5), one lane to remain open.
·         I-40, Haywood County eastbound and westbound (MM 57.0 to MM 49.0), one lane to remain open.

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane closed periodically on I-40 in both directions in Cheatham County between mile marker 186 and mile marker 192 in order to patch potholes in the concrete bridge decks. One lane will remain open.

  • Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-40 and Robertson Road Interchange:(Recovery Act Project) Friday March 11, 9AM-2PM, There will be rolling roadblocks on I-40 eastbound and westbound to patch potholes. Roadblocks will not exceed 15 minutes in duration.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East and West approaching Airport Road (Exit 440): On Saturday morning, March 12, 2011, motorists should be alert for a brief rolling roadblock in both directions beginning at 8 a.m. as utility crews perform an aerial cable crossing. Motorists should be alert for sudden stops, slowed traffic, expect potential delays and use extreme caution traveling through this area.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Utilities:Sunday March 13, 6AM-12Noon, On I-440 at the Bransford Ave. overpass in Davidson County. This request, by TW Telecom for transferring existing wireline attachments to new poles. Four rolling stop blocks are expected. Police cars will be present.

KNOX COUNTY, I-640 West at Mile Marker 0.8: On Monday night, March 14, 2011, motorists should be alert for a lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable barrier repairs. Motorists should expect potential delays and use caution traveling through this area.

 
I-55

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.
  • Wednesday March 9 through Wednesday March 16, there will be intermittent lane closures southbound at mile marker 8 to mile marker 9 in order to perform work on Interstate between bridge 1 and 2. One southbound lane will remain open.

  • Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating one lane closures on I-65 northbound and southbound between SR 96 and the bridge over the Harpeth River in order to perform some maintenance work and install barrier rail.. One lane will remain open.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 ramp to Old Hickory Blvd (Brentwood):Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16: No closures scheduled.

  • Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 9PM-5AM and Saturday March 12, 6AM-6PM, There will be alternating lane closures on Rosa Parks Blvd. in order to install the signal crossing and traffic adjustment.
  • Thursday March 10 through Wednesday March 16, 9PM-5AM, (excluding Sunday), There will be alternating lane closures on I-65 northbound and southbound in order to perform bridge work.


FUTURE I-69
 
OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR-5/SR-22 to 0.78 mile west of SR-21
  • NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69. A detour route is posted.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location. A detour route is posted. There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.
 
 
I-75
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, design-build project from I-75 Enterprise South interchange to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.: The contractor is clearing and performing grading operations to begin work on the bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy. Estimated completion date is January 2012. 
 
CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North at Mile Marker 140.3:On Sunday night, March 13, 2011, motorists should be alert for a lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution in this area.

GREENE COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Markers 36 and 44: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures through this resurfacing project on Sunday nights through Thursday nights between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning. Motorists should be alert for equipment and workers present, expect potential delays and use caution in this area.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Markers 50 and 54: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures through this resurfacing project on Sunday nights through Thursday nights between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning. Motorists should be alert for equipment and workers present, expect potential delays and use caution in this area.
