Notice to Vehicles Traveling South From Tennessee into Alabama

Thursday, April 28, 2011 | 04:11pm
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) and Alabama Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) recommend that persons traveling south from Tennessee into Alabama fill their vehicles with gas.

There may be limited availability of fuel near the border due to electrical outages or low supplies at retail gas stations around the disaster areas.

Widespread power outages and destruction from Wednesday's storms have rendered many Alabama fuel stations incapacitated.

Additional information will be posted online at TEMA's website, www.tnema.org, or AEMA's website, http://ema.alabama.gov/, as it is available.
