ALCOA, Tenn. --- Recent severe weather in the vicinity of Blount and Monroe counties damaged transmission structures and lines within Chilhowee Reservoir. Due to these storm-related damages, Alcoa Power Generating Inc. (APGI) has temporarily closed some public access areas.

The public access areas closed include Calderwood Village, Tab Cat, Gravel Pile, Happy Valley, Pear Tree and the canoe portage put-in and take-out.

Each of the access areas have been posted with an appropriate warning (i.e. no boating, swimming, and/or fishing) and boat ramps will be barricaded. These areas will remain closed while damages are fully assessed and repaired.
