Tennessee Highway Patrol to Honor Trooper Andy Wall

Full Honors for Trooper Andy Wall will include the following to honor his commitment and memory:

Two Troopers will remain with his body during the visitation and before the funeral service, one honor guard trooper at his head and one at his feet.

The American flag draped on his coffin will be folded and presented to the family (Mother, Wendy; Father, Tom; Sister, Rachel) by THP Colonel Tracy Trott.

THP Honor Guard will carry the colors.

Bagpipes will play Amazing Grace.       

There will be a 21-one gun salute.

Taps will be played.     

Twenty-one brass casings from the firing party will be presented to the family by Colonel Trott at the close of the service.

There will be a fly-over by THP helicopters with one peeling off from the formation to represent "The Missing Man." Vanderbilt Lifeflight will be the 4th helicopter in the formation.

The Dickson County Sheriff’s Department Mounted Patrol will escort “The Riderless Horse,” and a pair of boots will be turned backwards in the stirrups to signify “The Missing Man.”

A Nashville dispatcher will make Trooper Wall’ "Last Call for Service" from a patrol car at the gravesite, calling patrol Car #3423.

Trooper Andy Wall’ badge will be retired and presented to family by Colonel Trott.

Graduated THP Trooper Cadet School April 2004
 
First assignment to THP District 3 (Nashville), assigned to Humphreys County, 2004  
 
Transferred to THP District 3 (Nashville, Cheatham County) in 2006, then to Dickson County in January 2011
 
Father, Tom Wall is former Dickson County Sheriff
 
Trooper Wall told co-workers he became a State Trooper to assist people on a larger scale.

Trooper Wall is the 39th Tennessee Highway Patrolman to die in the line of duty since 1929.
 
He is the 13th Tennessee Highway Patrolman to die by motorcycle accident.  
 
The last THP Trooper to die by motorcycle accident was Trooper William H. Crutcher on August 3, 1944.
 
The last THP Trooper killed in the line of duty was Trooper Calvin Jenks, on January 6, 2007. Jenks was killed by gunfire.
