“Ready, Set Inflate!” Inflatable World Record Day Is Saturday

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be participating in “Ready, Set, Inflate!” Inflatable Life Jacket World Record Day on Saturday, May 21.
 
Boating safety educators and participants from the boating public throughout North America and abroad will inflate their life jackets to try and beat last year’s world record of 1,154 participants.
 
The World Record Day helps usher in National Safe Boating Week which runs from May 21-27. The goal of National Safe Boating Week is to educate and inform the boating public about boating safety, especially life jackets.
 
The TWRA, along with West Marine, will be hosting an event at West Marine’s location at 5566 Old Hickory Blvd. in Hermitage at 11 a.m.
 
Other events in the state scheduled are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hosting events at Seven Points Campground in Hermitage at 10 a.m., Center Hill Resource Manager’s Office Park Lot in Lancaster at 12:30 p.m., and the at the Cheatham Resource Manager’s Resource Office in Ashland City at 11 a.m. Johnson City Sail will host a 9:30 a.m. event at Meredith Pavilion and TWRA Boat Ramp at Windged Deer Park in Johnson City.
 
Participants are asked to bring their life jackets even if they are not inflatable.
