Media Advisory: Safety & Homeland Security Announces Promotions

NASHVILLE –- The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security will formally recognize 10 individuals for promotions on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. The ceremony will be held at the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Training Center in Nashville.

Members from the Highway Patrol’s Field Operations and Field Support Bureau, Executive and Protective Services and Criminal Investigations Division (CID) will receive rank advancements. A staff member from the department’s Research, Planning and Development section will also be recognized for promotion.                  
                                                                                                                      
 
The Tennessee Department of Safety’s (www.TN.Gov/Safety) mission is to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
