Interstate Construction Report for August 11-17, 2011

I-24
 
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, (excluding weekends), 9AM-4PM, There will be one lane closed periodically on I-24 westbound in Montgomery County between mile marker 8 and mile marker 11 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. Exit 11 is State Route 76 (Adams and Clarksville Exit), and Exit 8 is State Route 237 (Rossview Road Exit). 

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, (excluding weekends), 9AM-4PM, There will be one lane closed periodically on I-24 in both directions in Robertson County between mile marker 25 and mile marker 18 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. This is between exit 24 (Springfield and Ashland City) and Exit 19 (Adams). 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Repair of the I-24 (Silliman Evans) Bridge over Nashville & Eastern Railroad:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17: No closures scheduled. 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Tuesday August 16 and Wednesday August 17, 8PM-3AM, I-24 eastbound at mile marker 50 after the Silliman Evans Bridge there will be alternating lane closures for milling and paving. One lane will remain open.  

REGION 3, TDOT Utilities:Sunday August 14, 1:30PM-4:30AM, On I-24 @ Murfreesboro Road Interchange in Davidson County. This request by Nashville Electric Service, removing existing conductor line over I-24. One rolling stop block are expected, eight police cars will be present.
 
MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor continues work on the bridge. Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6PM-6AM. Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2012.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, I-26 East near Mile Markers 5.7 and 7.8:On Monday night, August 15, 2011 through Wednesday night, August 17, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures in this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform cable rail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, I-26 West near Mile Markers 11.3 and 13.1:On Sunday night, August 14, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures in this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, I-26 West near Mile Marker 23.6:On Monday night, August 15, 2011 through Wednesday night, August 17, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures in this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform cable rail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 8AM-4PM: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Hernando-DeSoto Bridge Inspection:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17: No closures scheduled.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Tuesday August 16 and Wednesday August 17, 8PM-5AM, I-40 eastbound to I-440 eastbound ramp will be reduced to one lane for paving.  One lane will remain open.

REGION #, TDOT Bridge Inspection: 
  • Thursday August 11, 8PM-4AM, The two left lanes will be closed on I-40 westbound at mile marker 205 to patch pothole in bridge deck. Two lanes will remain open. 
  • Tuesday August 16, 8PM-4AM, The two left lanes will be closed on I-40 westbound at mile marker 208 to patch pothole in bridge deck. One lane will remain open.

KNOX COUNTY, I-40 West between Mile Markers 394 (Asheville Highway) and 393 (I-640):On Tuesday, August 16, 2011, motorists should be alert for a temporary left lane closure in this area between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. as utility crews perform roadway lighting repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

 
I-140
 
KNOX COUNTY, I-140 East and West near Northshore Drive (Exit 5):Motorists should be alert for possible brief rolling roadblocks at various times daily through this blasting zone between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Motorists should reduce speed and be alert for sudden stops, slowed traffic and use extreme caution approaching this area.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 8AM-4PM: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 beginning SR385 to north of Walnut Grove Road:
  • Friday August 12, 8PM through Monday August 15, 6AM, There will be lane closures eastbound (MM 16.0 to MM 13.0) for placement of barrier rail . There will be one eastbound lane closed, two lanes will remain open. There will be two westbound lanes closed, one lane will remain open, for milling and paving operations (due to drop off policy).
  • Sunday August 14 through Friday August 19, 8PM-6AM: There will be lane closures westbound (MM 16.0 to MM 13.0) for milling and paving operations. There will be two westbound lanes closed, one lane will remain open.

I-55

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 8AM-4PM: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.
  • Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 9AM-3PM: There will be intermittent lane closures southbound (MM 8.0 to MM 9.0) in order to perform work on Interstate Bridge 1 (Mallory Overpass). One southbound lane will remain open. Exit 9 (SB) Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).

SHELBY COUNTY, Safety Improvement on the Ramps to I-55 at junction of Crump Boulevard:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 9AM-4PM: There will continue to be a lane closure and shoulder closure for clearing operations at Ramp A and permanent removal of ramps leading to I-55.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 8AM-4PM: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

DYER COUNTY, I-155:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 7:00 a.m. -7:00 a.m. Resurfacing and bridge repair should alert motorist for lanes closures. There will be one northbound and one southbound lane closed.

 
I-65

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 248 (Goose Creek) to SR 96:Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 9AM-4PM, There will be alternating lane closures on the ramp from SR 96 to northbound I-65 for shoulder work and wall construction.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 ramp to Old Hickory Blvd (Brentwood):Thursday August 11through Wednesday August 18, 9PM to 5AM, (excluding weekend), On Old Hickory Blvd. the inside lane, in both directions, and the left turn lane to I-65 southbound will be closed to remove and replace the concrete island.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-65 at the junction with SR 12 (Rosa Parks Blvd.):Thursday August 11 through Wednesday August 17, 9PM-5AM and Saturday August 6, 6AM-6PM, There will be alternating lane closures on Rosa Parks Blvd. in order to install lighting and signal work.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday August 11, 8PM-3AM, I-65 in both directions between mile marker 87 and mile marker 90 two left lanes will be closed for milling and paving and crack sealing. Two lanes will remain open.


FUTURE I-69
 
OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR-5/SR-22 to 0.78 mile west of SR-21:
  • NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69. A detour route is posted.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location. A detour route is posted. There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.
 
 
I-75
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, design-build project from I-75 Enterprise South interchange to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.:The contractor is performing grading operations and constructing the new bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy. Estimated completion date is January 2012. 
 
LOUDON COUNTY, I-75 North and South near Mile Marker 74:Motorists should be alert for lane closures in place around the clock, seven days a week in both directions approaching the bridge over the Tennessee River near Mile Marker 74 as crews perform bridge repairs. Motorists should be alert for slowed or stopped traffic approaching this area, expect potential long delays and use extreme caution through this area.

GREENE COUNTY, I-81 North near Mile Marker 44.3:On Sunday night, August 14, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures in this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Markers 54 and 57: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures through this resurfacing project on Sunday nights through Thursday nights between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning. Motorists should be alert for equipment and workers present, expect potential delays and use caution in this area.

 
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
