TWRA to Participate in Third Annual "Bubba-Fest"

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is pleased to announce its involvement at the Third Annual “Bubba-Fest” on Saturday, Aug. 27. The event will be held at the Crossville First United Methodist Chuch and starts at 4 p.m. (CDT).
Sponsored by the Christian Outdoorsman Ministry Team of Crossville, “Bubba Fest” features a special guest speaker, BBQ dinner, outdoor vendors, displays, whitetail deer seminars, “Redneck Olympics”, and live blue grass music.
TWRA will provide its wildlife and boating educational display trailer and a laser-shot game for the kids.
The year’s guest speaker is David Hale, one half of the Knight and Hale team that became a house hold name in the hunting industry.
David Hale and Harold Knight started a game call business in 1971 making turkey calls and waterfowl calls. As the restoration progress for turkey and deer took off, so did their business. Growing with the species the duo developed new calls and strategies that were used successfully in the field. Through the writing of hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles, television shows, personal appearances and now videos, the name Knight and Hale are synonymous with the calling of all species into gun or bow range.
David came from a Christian family and going to church was natural from childhood. He has been an adult Sunday school teacher and lay speaker for 44 years. David’s latest ministry has led him into guest speaking at men’s outreach wild game suppers across the states. His knowledge and reputation in the outdoors makes him a natural for mixing his faith in Jesus Christ with God’s creation and hunters and fisherman. David believes this type of ministry will reach people for Christ where no other Christian outreach can.
A number of door prizes will be awarded immediately following David Hale’s presentation and include a $1,000 cash prize, guns, and many others. Participants must be present to win.
World Class and local trophy bucks will be on display, and visitors to the event can enjoy games and fun for the kids, and may meet the “Wounded Warriors” from Fort Campbell, Ky.
