Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards Ceremony Friday, August 12

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam will join Department of Environment and Conservation Commissioner Bob Martineau on Friday, August 12, to kick off the 2011 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards at the Ed Jones Auditorium on the Ellington Agriculture Center campus in Nashville beginning at 11:15 a.m.
  
The Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards program recognizes exceptional voluntary actions that improve or protect our environment and natural resources with projects or initiatives not required by law or regulation. Fifteen awards will be presented to individuals, community organizations and government agencies whose achievements were recognized for their positive impact on the state’s natural resources. This marks the 25th year for the awards program.
