13th Annual Tree Climbing Championship Starts Saturday

NASHVILLE – The annual statewide competition conducted since 1999 promotes tree care professionalism and safety practices. Contestants compete in five preliminary events and the Master's Challenge for the state title. The event, sponsored by the Tennessee Dept. of Agriculture, Tennessee Urban Forestry Council and the International Society of Arboriculture, is free and open to the public. The competition follows the annual Urban Forestry Conference, occurring Sept. 29-30.
