Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office Launches Holiday “Booze It and Lose It” Campaign

Wednesday, December 12, 2012 | 05:25am

FRANKLIN, TN— Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner John Schroer will join Kendell Poole, Director of the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office and other state and local law enforcement officials Friday, December 14th at the Williamson County Agriculture Expo Park to launch the Holiday “Booze It and Lose It” Campaign.

In 2010, more than 10,000 people were killed nationwide in motor vehicle traffic crashes involving an impaired driver.  In 2011, Tennessee lost an estimated 320 lives due to drunk and drugged driving crashes.  The Governor’s Highway Safety Office works with law enforcement and prevention partners across the state to combat negative driving behaviors and improve safety for all drivers. The Governor’s Highway Safety Office and law enforcement across the state want to remind Tennesseans that during the holidays and throughout the year, drunk and or drugged driving do not mix.
