TDOT & TDOSHS to Sign New Plan to Avoid Long Term Highway Closures

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons and Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer will gather tomorrow to sign a new inter-agency agreement designed to quickly clear incidents on interstates and major highways.
 
The agreement was initiated following the long-term closure of a stretch of Interstate 40 following a tractor trailer crash in December.
 
The signing event will be held tomorrow, February 16, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at TDOT’s Transportation Management Center located at 6601 Centennial Boulevard.
