Shotgun Gauge Changes in Effect for 2012 Spring Turkey Season

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee hunters will be eligible to use any gauge of shotgun during the upcoming spring turkey hunting season. The Young Sportsman Hunt is March 24-25 while the Statewide Season is March 31-May 13.

 

Shotguns using ammunition with No. 4 shot or smaller is legal hunting equipment this spring. The change was made during the setting of the 2011-12 hunting seasons by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission last year.

 

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is offering the clarification to the change due to last year’s regulations which appeared in the latest issue of Tennessee Wildlife magazine.
