KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On Tuesday evening, TDOT maintenance crews completed cleanup from a rock rockslide in Blount County, which shut down part of U.S. 129/State Route 115, known as “The Dragon.” U.S. 129/State Route 115 is once again open to traffic in both directions.

The rockslide which occurred on Friday, March 16, was located approximately nine miles north of the Tennessee-North Carolina state line.

TDOT geotechnical engineers will continue to conduct evaluations of the area, to determine whether further stabilization of that mountainside is necessary.
