TWRA Announces Black Bear Public Meetings

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) announced that it will host two public meetings to obtain further input on black bear management strategies on the north Cumberland Plateau.
 
The meetings will be held over two days, Thursday and Friday, March 29–30, 2012. One meeting will be held in Jamestown at York Institute and the other in Byrdstown at the Pickett County Courthouse.
 
The public meetings will consist of a brief presentation by TWRA biologists concerning the current status of black bear populations in Tennessee and the results of a recent statewide black bear public opinion survey. Public comments will be taken at the meetings.
