Health Commissioner Leads Employee Walk for National Walking Day
NASHVILLE − Tennessee Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner, MD, MPH, will lead fellow Department of Health employees in a one-mile walk on Wednesday, April 4, to celebrate National Walking Day and encourage TDH, other state employees and all Tennessee workers to look for ways to incorporate physical activity into their work day.
The Tennessee Department of Health is leading by example in encouraging TDH employees across the state to walk together at noon on April 4. Employees in the department’s central offices in the Cordell Hull State Office Building will walk together to Bicentennial Mall State Park. Among the participants will be a TDH employee who has lost more than 60 pounds by following a healthy eating plan and getting more physical activity, and will share her story as an inspiration to others to improve their personal health and fitness.
