Open House for Maury County Dental Clinic

NASHVILLE  − Tennessee Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner, MD, MPH, will join other state and local officials on Tuesday, October 22, for an open house at the Maury County Health Department Dental Clinic in Columbia.

The Maury County Health Department Dental Clinic provides comprehensive dental care for children and targeted populations of uninsured adults. Services are offered on a sliding fee scale based on income. The state-of-the-art clinic is staffed by a full-time dentist and two full-time dental assistants. Through a partnership with the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, fourth-year students at the Meharry School of Dentistry provide services in two-week rotations at this clinic.

In the past year, providers have treated more than 624 patients and have delivered more than 2,900 procedures at this facility. The total value of the services provided to patients at the facility during the last fiscal year is more than $207,000.
