NASHVILLE --- Hiking/Backpacking the Great Outdoors will be the subject of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s November Nature @ Noontime program. The program will be from noon-1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at the TWRA Region II Ray Bell Building.

Tom Vickstrom will be the guest presenter. He took a cross-country trip at age 19 which inspired his curiosity and appreciation of the outdoors. Since taking up backpacking as an adult, he has enjoyed various hikes throughout Tennessee. He has lived in various spots east of the Mississippi River in his career in the hotel business, but now calls Nashville home. Tom is a member of the Nashville Chapter of the Tennessee Trails Association. Among his favorites hiking spots are the American Southwest and Maine.

Hosted by the Information and Education Division, Nature @ Noontime is held the first Thursday of each month with the exception of July. TWRA Nature @ Noontime presentations are about natural resources related topics and last about 30-45 minutes, allowing time for discussion during the allotted lunch hour. Contact Don King (615) 781-6500 or by e-mail: don.king@tn.gov for more information.
