Grand Opening for New Lawrence County WIC Clinic

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – Tennessee Department of Health Community Health Services Director Leslie Humphreys, MPA, will join other state and local officials on Thursday, March 21, for the grand opening celebration at the new Women, Infants and Children clinic at the Lawrence County Health Department in Lawrenceburg.

The Lawrence County WIC clinic provided nearly 5,700 client encounters in 2012, resulting in more than $1 million in vouchers redeemed in the county.

The Lawrence County Health Department received a $45,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture to assist with renovations at the clinic. Improvements have included renovating existing space used for patient intake, counseling and check-out at the facility in Lawrenceburg.
