West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Steering Committee to Re-evaluate Three Potential Sites

Tuesday, March 19, 2013 | 03:05am

NASHVILLE – The West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Steering Committee is expected to re-evaluate the three potential sites originally chosen by the committee in September 2012.  Over the course of 2012, the Committee visited and evaluated 27 different sites to determine which sites would be ideal for the proposed state veterans cemetery.  Since the committee’s decision to narrow the list to three potential sites, land owners have updated their offers to sell.  On Thursday, March 21 at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) the Steering Committee will meet at the Welcome Center at Parkers Crossroads to re-evaluate the properties.

The Steering Committee will be chaired by Chris Dangler.  Dangler served in the United States Army and worked as an investigator with the Miami-Dade Police Department for 24 years.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Hope Ministries and is Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1294 in Lexington, TN.
