Second Annual Women Veterans Summit to Offer Networking, Educational Opportunities and Entertainment

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs is partnering with the Women Veterans of America Chapter 20 to host the Second Annual Women Veterans Summit at The Inn at Opryland on April 13-14. 

Speakers include State Senator and Marine Veteran Dolores Gresham (R-Somerville) as well as Associate Director of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Women Veterans Dr. Betty Moseley-Brown.    

Marine Veteran and Country Music Artist Stephen Cochran will perform and share his inspirational story of recovery after a life-changing combat injury.  Comedian Sheila Van Dyke will continue her “Mission of Laughter” for Tennessee’s Women Veterans in attendance.

A panel of VA Experts will also share insight into changes in federal benefits and healthcare for Women Veterans.  Attendees will also hear from a panel of Women Veterans as they share their stories of military service and community involvement.  This year’s theme is “Unshakeable Foundation, Unstoppable Force”.  According to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, there are more than 51,000 Women Veterans in the state of Tennessee.
